HOUSTON, TX Amerant Bank, which has a presence in Texas and Florida, together with The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the museum’s acclaimed Latin American art department.

The MFAH’s biannual 2022 Latin American Experience – a series of ticketed special events and programs culminating with a black-tie fundraiser, the Latin American Experience Gala and Auction – celebrates the 20th anniversary of the museum’s Latin American art department, paying tribute to artists and highlighting the museum’s continued commitment to Latin American art.

Amerant’s support of the MFAH, which began 20 years ago, includes sponsorship of the ‘Amerant Latin American Gallery,’ which showcases a broad range of artists drawn from the Museum’s collections of Latin American and Latino art, located in the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building

“Our involvement with the Museum is a testament to Amerant’s support of one of Houston’s true community treasures,” said Francisco Rivero, Houston Market President at Amerant. “We are proud to be part of the multi-faceted Latin American community, which is such an integral part of the overall fabric of the City of Houston and surrounding areas.”

Established in 2001, the mission of the MFAH’s Latin American art department and its research institute, the International Center for the Arts of the Americas (ICAA), is to collect, exhibit, research, and educate the public about the diverse artistic production of Latin Americans and Latinos. Since then, the division has mounted more than 30 exhibitions, published 19 award-winning catalogues and acquired over 850 works of art.

Amerant Bank is a strong proponent the arts in the communities it serves. Most recently, the bank commissioned “The Stacks”, a live art and music experience at the 58th Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Miami, Florida.
